新特性：包含多个场景的整合大地图

君王Play特性，即内政指令和战斗都发生在同一地图上，逐步加强。

游戏将通过计划/循环战略阶段(即内政和军事命令)和进行阶段(即执行这些指令)来推进。

新元素：战线

整个地图被划分为小的块(HEX)，每个块成为各位派系各种收入的基础。

每个块可以通过指派部队进行占领，不需要征服城市。

当攻击敌人时，你也可以使用一些战术，比如切断它与城市的联系来切断后勤。

超过一千人登场：该系列有史以来最多

有些军官可能会无视玩家的命令。

在组织图上设置武将可以获得各种各样的效果和特殊指令。
